Re: The Old World Subforum
I voted yes only because it’s what I am intending to play over the next bit. My gaming group is going to still ultimately play 6th edition but we are trying OW for a bit and I like what I see so far.

Re: Introductions
Thanks guys I am in Calgary Alberta Canada. I know going online is usually often about finding folks to game with but that wasnt my big motivation to join classichammer it was more to just chat about Warhammer fantasy. I do have a core gaming group that plays 6e locally. Also although I am relativel...

Re: Introductions
Hey everyone I am not exactly new I have benefited from advice from folks here a little bit in the past but admittedly have not been a regular visitor. I have been someone old enough to have visited "forums" like this and find this much more appealing than facebook etc. My gaming group pri...

Re: Beastmen advice
Thanks after your post I looked at the hordes of chaos book for a daemon prince and already decided like you point out a hellfire sword is in the future lol... seems like a great option. For some reason even with the undivided rerolls my four chariots still performed abismally .... I didnt realize t...

Re: Beastmen advice
Thanks for the replies everyone. I like the idea of having a demon prince as an option with the idol I hadn’t thought of that. I used four chariots yesterday. I actually find them against terror with their low leadership pretty horrible but also against T5 T6 even if I get them in they are pretty un...

Beastmen advice
Hey all I have been having good luck with my beastmen but recently have been having trouble against wood elves. In a 2000 point game my opponent is taking two treemen and the forrest dragon with a powerful lord mounted. Finding with three heavy hitters and dryads and cavalry and some archers it was ...

Re: Contrast paint
Yeah I typically would watch a tutorial on youtube and use a test model. I have heard the GW Contrast can dry quickly and leave brush streaks if not done properly. I can appreciate it's it's own thing to learn I am not terribly frightened though Guess we will see....

Contrast paint
How may of you have started to use contrast paint? I have resisted any impulse to try contrast paint. Until recently have had zero interest. Over the years I have enjoyed practicing painting and developing painting styles with I guess more traditional methods and am still happy with those. However I...

Re: GW Primer Spray Issues
With my last few batches of models that I primed with GW Primer I have had this issue where the primer is "Bubbling" or creating bumps on the surface. This does not happen on all of the models in a batch however. Some get a smooth finish and some get this "bumpy" surface on the ...

Re: Beastman Small Point Armies
Belphegor who was always careful to cull and decimate his Ungors whenever they threatened to grow too unruly. Belphegor was a weakling and coward. The weak are always naturally more numerous than the strong. The truly strong fear no horde and dominate the herd even there is one of them and 100 of t...

Re: Beastman Small Point Armies
Small point Beastmen armies eh? Well.. In the Royal Annals of Quenelles, it is noted of that most loathsome scourge of Men known as Belphegor, that the monster's earliest victories were usually fought and won with a small band of warriors. Poetic Troubadour accounts of the Sack of Beatrice-en-Brien...

Re: Beastman Small Point Armies
Great suggestions/write up definitely some stuff to think about. Rightly or wrongly we have been playing 1000 pt games on a 4x4 mat. Which makes it a bit hard to avoid fast units but definitely can tie up with hounds etc as you mentioned. I wondered about the spawn it’s one of the only units I do no...

Re: Beastman Small Point Armies
Thanks for the tips! This was my first battle using the armybook/beastherds in RH they didnt exist so I am new to the dynamic of mixing Gor's and Ungors together so it's helpful to understand that (reducing Gors.) One thing I did like as an improvement was Gors getting the option for two hand weapon...

Re: Beastman Small Point Armies
Thanks for the comments! I play a lot against an O&G player who often takes a giant. I only used a chaos giant for the first time yesterday (I do tend to focus on core with the exception of the occasional minotaur or Dragon Ogre unit.) I have found giants particularly hard to deal with as their ...

Beastman Small Point Armies
Nice battle report. I have been playing 6th beastmen for awhile (like a year lol...not 20) I have been using the Ravaging Hordes and am just starting to use the 6th army book. Because I play more during the week after work we often play 1000 pts which I think can make list building quite tricky/stra...
